Homemade Mac and Cheese

Monday, November 1, 2010

Everyone loves mac and cheese and we all know how easy it is to open up the box, boil the noodles, add the powdery stuff and serve.  But, it's really not that difficult to make your own, homemade, mac and cheese.  This is the second time I have made this recipe of mac and cheese and it has become a huge hit at our house!

Homemade Mac and Cheese Recipe:

    •    2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni (an 8-ounce box isn't quite 2 cups)
    •    4 tablespoons (1/2 stuck) butter, cut into pieces
    •    2 1/2 cups grated sharp Cheddar cheese
    •    3 eggs, beaten
    •    1/2 cup sour cream
    •    1 can condensed Cheddar cheese soup
    •    1 cup whole milk
    •    1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
    •    1/2 teaspoon salt
    •    1/2 teaspoon black pepper
