This morning, I received a phone call that made my day. Only a few of my closest friends and our families know about the stress we have had over the past two weeks and I'm happy to say that today - IT IS OVER!!
For the past 14 days straight, Terry has been working on a business plan for his company. This may not sound like much because we all have to do them but, the "head man in charge" asked for all the managers to come to Atlanta to present the plan to him, personally. And what drove all the stress was, if he didn't like it - then you were gone. So as you can imagine, the stress was through the roof.
He hasn't slept well, eaten much at all and even though it wasn't me doing the work - I felt like I was. Being with your love, best friend and soul-mate... means that you aren't thinking about just you anymore. It's about the other person more than yourself. Making sure that he is taken care of and that you meet the needs of him. And for the past 14 straight days that is what I have tried to do. I have been there when he wanted to talk and when he didn't, cheered him on even when he wanted to quit and made sure that he didn't want for anything.
Last night he drove over to Atlanta for the group meeting and this morning I set my alarm for 4 a.m. (5 his time) to help wake him up for his meeting this morning with some encouraging words. His meeting was at 7 a.m. (6 our time) but he had to be there at 6:30. At 6:47 a.m. this morning I got the phone call that it was over. I could hear over the phone how big his smile was. Not only was it over, the "head man in charge" loved it, praised him for going the extra mile and yes, he still has his job!
