An afternoon in the kitchen

Saturday, March 5, 2011

Since I got home from the grocery store, I have been in the kitchen.  That's right, from 12:45 until 6:45.  I was preparing a white chocolate cheesecake for tomorrow's luncheon for Terry's parents that we are hosting.  And, cooking tonight's dinner.  To say I'm exhausted would be an understatement.  My back hurts, my feet are killing me and I'm ready for bed.  A spent most of the afternoon and evening yesterday cleaning the house to get it ready for tomorrow's function.  Not to mention that between cooking, I was finishing up what I didn't get accomplished yesterday.  Did I mind doing it, no.  But, now I am exhausted and could use a very long back massage.  Unfortunately, the hot bath I just came out of did nothing for my back.

I am proud of my second cheesecake.  I think it turned out well and I guess tomorrow will be the true test when everyone bites in to enjoy.

And then of course, tonight's dinner.  No need for take out when this is just as good, if not even better!

Italian chicken, loaded mashed potatoes, corn, peas, cornbread and pickles.
Guess I better get back to getting ready for tomorrow... Still need to set the table and unload the dishwasher.  I feel a date with the heating pad coming on, soon!
