Happy Anniversary Johnny & Judy

Sunday, March 6, 2011

Today, we enjoyed having the Sowell family over for lunch to celebrate the 48th anniversary of Terry's parents, Johnny and Judy.  And I've been preparing for this day since Friday.  Cooking, cleaning and then repeating.

Last night, I got the table set and ready to go...
The nieces sat at the bar, but had the same set up.
And I made a flower arrangement for the center of the dinner table.
A dozen roses, a pack of 6 purple stems from Winn Dixie and the sticks I had in my closet.
The family arrived while we were finishing getting everything ready.  Terry's parents picked the menu and so we had burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, homemade french fries, baked beans and not to forget the fixings — lettuce, tomato, onion, sliced cheddar cheese, sliced american jalapeno cheese and three different kinds of pickles.  Everyone was stuffed, but not stuffed enough for this...

White Chocolate Cheesecake
This is the cheesecake I made yesterday afternoon and you can see the blog post with the recipe by clicking here.

Before serving up the slices of cheesecake, I melted some white chocolate to drizzle over them.  The hot white chocolate against the cold white chocolate cheesecake was to die for!  Don't you think so...

Now that all the guests are gone and the house is quiet again, I've been straightening back up and getting the house back to its somewhat normalcy.  Ready to enjoy a quiet evening with my loves watching tv, relaxing and getting ready for another work week.
