No one loves finding a deal better than me. Of course, I'm still trying to master the whole coupon, double coupon and store brochure deals that some of my friends always talks about. Maybe someone should offer a class on that (Lauren)... I'm sure that others would attend.
However, I have been wanting a piece of furniture to go by the recliner in the family room. I'd seen some pieces that I liked, but I'm sorry, I'm NOT paying $200 for any of them. So, yesterday after visiting with Abby at her new place, we went to a local flea market. She said I would be surprised at what I could find. And she was right. I left with this...
It's scruffy, it's the perfect size, it holds everything I wanted it to and it was $18!!! That's right, a steal. I'm planning on antiquing it in a few weeks, but I love the scratches and all the details.
The top houses a new lamp (thank you DG, $12), the remote and phone. The two shelves are perfect. The computer neatly fits on the top shelf with a basket for pens and the bottom shelf has a picture frame and a few books.
I'm so happy with my rustic, steal of a find. I'll show you the final results after it has been antiqued.
How beautiful! It looks great and quite useful!
ReplyDeleteLove! Did you find it on 45?
ReplyDeleteI did. It was my first time in there and I can't wait to go back. There were a few more "treasures" I'd love to get, but I guess they can wait a few more months! =)
ReplyDeleteI love that place. I just realized this week, that I don't own any pieces of furniture that aren't pre-loved. All of it either came from an antique store, thrift store, or flea market. To tell the truth, this makes me very proud.
