For those of you who dislike dachshunds, think dogs can't be our 4-legged babies and/or can't stand to hear us talk baby talk to our "babies," you probably will not want to read any further.
Each day that Mar Belle is with us, she does something to make us laugh. Yes, she is spoiled, but can you tell me another 4-legged baby that isn't? I truly believe dogs were created to give us never ending love. Their moods relate to our moods. And no matter how terrible your day has been — the day is instantly better when you walk through that door because all they care about is you!
Our sweet girl knows that Terry will give her countless hours of belly rubs. And she loves them so much that when you catch her like this...
She immediately does this...
And yes, the tongue is always sticking out. Ever since her surgery at MSU, she keeps the tip of her tongue out. I think it's so funny!
And the best part of this funny girl — she doesn't care what you're doing as long as she is next to you!
"He is my other eyes that can see above the clouds; my other ears that hear above the winds. He is the part of me that can reach out into the sea. He has told me a thousand times over that I am his reason for being; by the way he rests against my leg; by the way he thumps his tail at my smallest smile; by the way he shows his hurt when I leave without taking him. (I think it makes him sick with worry when he is not along to care for me.) When I am wrong, he is delighted to forgive. When I am angry, he clowns to make me smile. When I am happy, he is joy unbounded. When I am a fool, he ignores it. When I succeed, he brags. Without him, I am only another man. With him, I am all-powerful. He is loyalty itself. He has taught me the meaning of devotion. With him, I know a secret comfort and a private peace. He has brought me understanding where before I was ignorant. His head on my knee can heal my human hurts. His presence by my side is protection against my fears of dark and unknown things. He has promised to wait for me... whenever... wherever - in case I need him. And I expect I will - as I always have. He is just my dog." - Gene Hill
your little M looks like my Tinkie with a longer nose and black/brown coloring--never was a dog person till I got her-she loves the belly rubs and will roll over onto her back for them too--same position as your little one just longer legs sticking up LOL....funny what we will do for our 4legged babies....
ReplyDeleteMar Belle is a cutie!! I have two big babies and they both think they are lap dogs (one is 65lbs and the other is pushing 90lbs).
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't know what to do w/out them. :o)

So cute!! We have a golden Retriever and you are right they are there to love and they always give it back! He is our little sweetie!
ReplyDeleteMy parents still have their dog Jazz from when I was in college, she is very old and very tired, but still never too tired to lay down in the floor and snuggle with me when I go visit. My husband thinks it's strange, but that dog is like my sibling. Nothing like love from a dog.
ReplyDelete"Heaven is the place where all the dogs you have ever loved come to greet you when you arrive"
I love my 4 legged babies too, Joy!! My 11 year old Chihuahua, Sasha and my 4 year old Wiemareiner, Smokey are the best investments we've made. They give us countless hours of happiness. I love the looks on their faces when we come home from work. They truly are a big part of our family!
