Garlic Butter Recipe

Monday, May 2, 2011

You're strolling through the grocery store and as you walk down the freezer isle with the frozen breads and frozen biscuits, you look at the price for a box of garlic bread, shake your head, and buy it anyway, because after all — you need it to compliment that new recipe you've been dying to try.

This week while I was checking out the frozen garlic bread boxes and the prices, I decided that there really isn't a need for me to purchase that box of $3.99 ready to bake garlic bread.  Especially when a loaf of french bread is $.99 and all the other ingredients needed to make a garlic butter spread is just sitting in the kitchen refrigerator and cupboards.  So, instead of purchasing that box of frozen bread, I went with the fresh loaf of french bread and googled some garlic butter recipes.

After looking at what seemed like millions of recipes, I finally decided on this:

1/4 cup each butter
1/4 Parmesan cheese (dry)
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder

Mix it well and spread over french bread.  It will spread over about 6 to 8 pieces.  Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in a preheated 375 degree oven.

And this is what the outcome will look like...

Hope y'all like it as much as we did!

  1. I like making my own garlic butter too (usually just melting butter w/ garlic powder), but I've got to try this! :o)
