Mississippi's Distinguished Young Women

Wednesday, July 20, 2011

Mississippi's Distinguished Young Women (formally known as Mississippi's Jr Miss) is in full swing this week.  The girls have been in long rehearsals for the past two days learning the fitness routine and opening numbers.  However, they got a break from all the sweat and tears last night to enjoy the Spotted Pony Bid Party.  The girls showed up in their school colors and came to cut loose.  (Mom's of the contestants, if you are reading this, I promise they are having fun.)

Spotted Pony Boutique hosted the event in Whynot, Miss. (cabin in the woods) where the girls visited with each other, chowed down on hamburgers and the fixings and these...

And these young ladies may be away from home all week, but these volunteers are making sure they have everything they need and also making sure this week is full of fun memories to last a lifetime!

I know a lot of these volunteers and I think they are having just as much fun as the contestants are.  One even got converted to an Ole Miss fan this week.

No worries though, she will be a bulldawg again by the end of the week, I'm sure of this!!  =)

Tomorrow night starts the first of three nights of competition.  Who will be the 2012 Mississippi's Distinguished Young Woman???  I can't wait for Saturday night to find out!!!  Good Luck Ladies!!
