Where I want to go

Thursday, August 11, 2011

I have visited a lot of different, adventurist places in my life, but one place I've never been and am dying to visit is — Savannah!  Everything about Savannah screams hospitality, southern charm and romance.  And thanks to Haven and this blog post, and this blog post, okay and this blog post — I'm ready to go!!

And, of course, I'm also wanting to go to eat here.

Now, when to go??  Soon, I hope!  Have you been?  What all should we do while we are there?  Where else should we eat?  Where should we stay (no bed and breakfast places, please)?

All I know is that I'm hungry right now and I know some of Paula's wonderful dishes would fill me up (and my arteries) in two bites!!

  1. I would love to go eat at her restaurant. I love watching her show. I reckon a road trip is in order so... maybe we should plan one?

  2. The hubby and i were JUST talking last night about taking a trip there. I've been dying to go too, it all looks so beautiful from everything I've seen!

  3. Me too!!!!! I have always wanted to go there. It looks gorgeous. My sister went last year and went to the Lady & Sons. She met Bobby there and said it was fantastic!

  4. Be still my heart ... I may just sneak myself in your suitcase! You will have a wonderful time! Definitely take a tour with a tour company (I recommend Oglethorpe), get some ice cream at Leopold’s, walk River Street a couple of times, and go on a ghost tour. I also wished I had gone in to tour Mercer House. Watch “The Midnight Garden of Good and Evil.” It is based on a man in Savannah. My parents stayed at the Best Western Plus and it was in the heart of downtown. They liked it. We stayed at Country Inn and Suites, but it a little outside downtown. Have fun! Can’t wait to see what all you do!

  5. I lived there for 4 years and Lady and Sons is AMAZING! Also, Hueys on the River has the best beignets. Not a great place to live but a great place to visit!

Thanks for taking a moment to read the Sowell Life.
