The Bridal Shower

Monday, February 27, 2012

Sunday, February 19th my home church gave us one massive bridal shower. The ten ladies of the Sunday School class and many others went out of their way to make our shower one we will never forget. We got so many wonderful gifts and yes, I'm still writing thank you notes to this day. We can't wait to use all our new fine and everyday china, serving pieces, bedding, towels, utensils, pots and pans and everything else once we get settled after the wedding. Speaking of wedding... y'all it's in TWO WEEKS!!! I'm pretty sure the excitement will build, but I can't imagine being anymore excited than I am right now!

Three words...

Thursday, February 23, 2012

I'm a Good Morning America watcher and I love how they do a three word segment every once in a while. It had me to start thinking about what three words I would choose to share with the world. It could be something exciting, thoughtful, etc. and I thought it might be fun to see what your three words would be, so leave a comment with your three.  Here are mine...

Family Dinner - Pre-wedding fun

Friday, February 17, 2012

Last Saturday night, we had a private family dinner for our families to meet before our marriage.  Mrs. Barbara, Vanessa and Sheila hosted the dinner along with their husbands and families.  Honestly, the love that was shown for us that night is more than we could ever ask for.  From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect and we will treasure that night for years to come.  Enjoy the photos...

The decor for the evening... perfect in every way!

The food, oh the food — amazing.  They had all our favorites... even his and my favorite desserts!

His parents, us and my parents...

Mrs. Barbara's cooking is better than any fine dining restaurant, anywhere!!

Us with the hostesses... Vanessa, Sheila and Mrs. Barbara

Me and my brother, Brian

What a wonderful way to kick off our pre-wedding events.  We will never forget how special y'all made us feel and our tummies will crave that food for a lifetime!!

There's a package at my door...

Everyday I'm reminded why I love to blog and how much I love my bloggy friends. Since starting my blog back in 2009, I have been blessed with sweet followers and fellow bloggers who have now become wonderful friends.  When I arrived home for lunch today, I had a box waiting for me at the front door. I opened it up to find these...

Haven from over at Love & Projects sent us two of our everyday china mugs. We LOVE this pattern (Sophie Conran for Portmeirion in white) because it looks like pottery, and Terry especially likes these mugs because they will hold a lot of hot chocolate!  =)  Such a wonderful and sweet surprise!! Thanks again Haven!! And since we are moving two hours closer to y'all... I think these will get used a lot during our girl talks!!

This Sunday is our bridal shower and I'm most excited to see all of our family and friends. Today is 27 days and counting until we say "I DO" and I'm overjoyed each morning knowing it's getting closer and closer to being here!

Let's get it started...

This weekend starts some pre-wedding fun. Our families are meeting for the first time at a private family dinner hosted by one of the sweetest families I know. I'm excited for Saturday to get here. And even more excited that one month from today, we will be in Jamaica!!! Time is flying by!!  =)

Our "save the date."
The invitation (with the blurred out address).
Both the save the date and invitation was designed by one of the hostesses, Sheila. Aren't they cute!

Let the pre-wedding celebrations begin!

Engagement Pictures

Monday, February 6, 2012

Last Monday morning we had our engagement pictures captured by Candace McKay out of Philadelphia, Miss. She has taken pictures for some of my family in Philadelphia before and we were very excited to have her snap some shots of us during this special time in our life.

I can honestly say that we were extremely nervous about having them made. Did we have the right outfits on, what was my hair doing, how do we pose? However, once we met Candace she made us feel right at home. One thing I loved about her was her attention to detail. She made sure we looked good before the photos were snapped and made taking photos, fun! Since I'm usually the one behind the camera, it was nerve racking not being in control, but we put our trust in her that at least one of the pictures would turn out wonderful. Only they didn't turn out wonderful — they were absolutely amazing!!!  Every. single. one!!! The hard part, picking between the sixty fabulous images!!

These are some of our favorites... I hope you love them as much as we do!
