Random Wednesday

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

Randomness seems to be my theme these days, and thanks to Shanna I now don't feel guilty about sharing my crazy randomness with y'all!

1) Driving home in the dark from work is now enjoyable. Why? It's so much fun to see all our neighbor's Christmas decorations lit up from the inside out. Plus, with the XM Holiday station on full blast... it just makes you smile. And Monday night, I heard my favorite Christmas songs back to back. And that, y'all, makes any traffic jam worth it!

2) My mom took some pictures of the Mr and I over Thanksgiving. Let's just say none of those will make our Christmas card. The Mr looked great, as always, but this little momma looked pretty worn out. I'm pale, my face looks like I'm back in Jr High, and my roots are at least two inches. I'm more than happy to look this way for our little one who is growing leaps and bounds inside of me. However, the next time we attempt to take the Christmas card pic... it will be right after I wake up, have a nice long shower and put make up on. Want proof (because I want to keep it real with y'all)... well this is the best one out of all the ones she took. And yes, that's my little pregnant belly at 10 weeks. =) And, I have no clue why my hair was looking red. Trust me, it's all brown and gray at the moment. And will stay that way until sometime after the New Year when I feel it's safe to get it colored.

3) I've done some Christmas shopping, online that is. And I have a feeling all our Christmas shopping will be done this way. Cyber Monday had some good deals that started Sunday afternoon and lasted through Tuesday... so that helped us check off a few more folks off our list. And not only did they have good deals on the products... they offered free shipping. That's a win win for me!

4) Cooking... when I feel like cooking that is, I seem to be in a routine rut. I need some new inspiration for some easy and quick meals. I think the Mr would appreciate it, too. He said he loves everything I cook, but I feel like I'm serving him the same thing over and over again. Have any suggestions? Any blogs that I need to follow who have great recipes? I already follow Plain Chicken... she has some great recipes, but we are already using some of them in our weekly meals. And no chili recipes, please. The Mr said no chili again for a long time. Mainly because it made us both sick the last time I cooked chili cheese fries. And btw, I could go for a huge plate of those right now. =)

Well, that's about all of my randomness for this Wednesday.

Almost Wordless Wednesday

As you know, my mom came a couple of weeks ago and put up our Christmas decor for us. Well, the Mr helped... but I just sat and watched. If you missed that reveal... click here.

I was telling the Mr that after all the lovely gifts we received for our wedding, we never got a "first Christmas" ornament.

Well... look what we got in the mail yesterday...

 From...

Aunt Barbara and Uncle Ken sent us our first Christmas card and they included our first "first Christmas" ornament. Now we've got to put a wedding picture of us in the ornament and get it on the tree, asap. Even though this will be our fourth Christmas together... this will be our first as Mr & Mrs!

Thank you so much Aunt Barbara and Uncle Ken... I was tickled when Terry brought it in yesterday at lunch. Can't wait for y'all to see it on the tree when y'all come back for a visit.

Thanksgiving Part II

Tuesday, November 27, 2012

If you missed yesterday's first post about Thanksgiving with my folks... you can read it by clicking here.

Saturday, we had Thanksgiving with the Mr's family. And with it also being Egg Bowl game day... there was some family rivalry going on. Especially with the nieces...

Of course, their parents were also in with the fun...

Cathy and Emma were for our boys... Mississippi State.

But Richie and Hannah were for TSUN...

Judy fixed a big Thanksgiving lunch... turkey, dressing, ham, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, baked beans, green beans, the "pink stuff" as Hannah calls it, and more.

We had her brother and his wife, and her sister and her husband there to help us celebrate.

And one of the Mr's cousin came and brought her little girl, Sierra. I think she and Emma did more playing that eating.

And me and the Mr... well... we were fat and happy. But mostly ready for our afternoon nap!

Of course, the evening ended with the watching of the Egg Bowl. The first half was pretty great... we both enjoyed watching our boys get pumped and ready for more action. At half time, we were tied at 17 - 17. However, the second half was hard to watch. Apparently TSUN wanted the win a little more than our guys did. Their win gave them the chance to go to a bowl game. At least we still have our bowl game to watch over the Christmas holidays. No matter what though, win or lose, the Mr and I will always be Mississippi State fans.

We enjoyed our feasts of turkey and dressing, and are thankful we won't see anymore of it until the Christmas holidays. =)

Thanksgiving Part I

Monday, November 26, 2012

Hello Monday, and hello real world. Today is the start of what I fear will be a long week. However, here's hoping I'm wrong!

We went back to Mississippi to celebrate Thanksgiving with our families. It was nice to be with them for four straight days.

First up was with my family. Mom outdid herself again this year will all the yummy fixings. Turkey and dressing, ham, sweet potato casserole, peas and butter beans, corn, fried okra, cranberry sauce, fruit salad, rolls and that was just the main meal.

And of course, I opted for no meat (mainly because I snacked on it before the meal was ready to eat). Here was my plate...

And yes, I did go back for seconds. Hey, I'm eating for two remember. ;) And, we don't get this kind of eating all the time. Now there was plenty of desserts to go around... but I had enough of the main course to not have any room for yummy the carrot cake, apple pie or sweet potato pie.

Little Mar Belle had enough turkey, too! I don't think she moved from this position for a few hours.

We also got to spend some time with my granny and Robert while we were home...

And the Mr got to have some quality time in green fields hunting, too...

The entire time we kept talking about how different things will be next year with the baby's arrival. It will definitely be different celebrating Thanksgiving with a 5 month old. =)

Seems that our time at home always flies by, but Christmas is almost here... and that means we will be over the river and through the woods....

Hope y'all had a great Thanksgiving weekend!  Tomorrow will be part II of our Thanksgiving celebrations.

Black Friday

Friday, November 23, 2012

If you are an avid "Black Friday" shopper, this post might not be for you. However, if you are one of those avid "Black Friday" shoppers... you might be thankful for me. Below is a list of why I don't attempt to "Black Friday" shop...

1) "Black Friday" shopping has been taken to a new level... a level that I think is ridiculous! Why? Because it's not the traditional Black Friday shopping anymore. Most stores are opening up on Thanksgiving afternoon to start their big "Black Friday" sales. Ummm.... hello? What ever happened to enjoying Thanksgiving Day... all. day. long.

2) Most of the "Black Friday" deals might seem pretty good... but they have about 5 of each item for the hundreds of people in line. And y'all know I'm not lying here!

3) Most, if not all the "Black Friday" deals can be found online. This is true!! And I'm not talking about "Cyber Monday" either... I'm talking you can find them online today.

4) The "Black Friday" traffic in, and out of your vehicles. Every person will be looking for a parking place, and you are likely to spend at least 30 minutes or longer in the check out line. This gives me chills!

5) "Black Friday" rudeness. After we celebrate a wonderful day of Thanksgiving, the claws come out to fight for what they said they had their hands on first, or you have people trying to butt in line in front you. This is kind of up there with bargain hunting at Hudson's or Dirt Cheap (it's just not my thing)... I'm not a digger, and I'm certainly not going to fight over a product in a store.

6) The commercials... especially the "Black Friday" Target commercials this year. What happened to our dear friend in the commercial below? I kinda miss her this year.

So if you are out there braving the madness to find the best deals or top must haves... bless you. I'll be chilling on the couch taking naps and watching Christmas movies. Be safe out there! =)

Thankful for all these things and more

Thursday, November 22, 2012

Happy Thanksgiving y'all!

I hope you are all enjoying time with family and friends today. We are surrounded by family, turkey and dressing, and everything else yummy you can imagine. I couldn't let the day go by without giving thanks today for many things, however, this list is small in comparison to the wonderful blessings of life. Just know... we are always thankful!

{I'm thankful} I'm a child of the King. Salvation was the first gift I accepted from him and his blessings continue to flow day after day.

{I'm thankful} for the love of my husband. It may have taken many years to find each other, but it was His will for us to be together. Our love is one that is not weak, but one that grows stronger and stronger every day. I'm blessed to know that he is mine, and I am his. And in June... I get to see him hold our son or daughter. Oh, how I can't wait for that day!

{I'm thankful} for our sweet little baby growing inside of me. Words can't describe how excited, nervous, joyful, blessed I feel to know that this sweet baby is a gift from above. His timing for this gift is perfect, and we will thank Him always for this great joy. We pray everyday that He will mold us into the parents He wants us to be for this child. I'm sure we will fall short, but we promise to always look to Him for guidance. Our love for this baby is like non-other, and it grows stronger and stronger everyday.

{I'm thankful} for our families. They've provided for us before we were married, have and continue to love us, and only hope and pray for the best for us. They are excited about our little one, and will most definitely spoil he or she rotten.

{I'm thankful} for our amazing friends. Throughout life you find that you have real friends — friends that love you no matter what, stand by your side throughout life, and most importantly... trust and believe in you. Friendships that have those things are the ones you are thankful for!

{I'm thankful} for you, our blog readers. Every time there is a post... y'all show us love by commenting, and those comments are what keeps us blogging. The friendships I've acquired over the past few years of blogging have been a blessing to my heart. Y'all are encouraging, thoughtful and well, y'all just know how to make a girl smile. We've gotten some really great recipes from some of you, we've gotten craft ideas from some of you, and we've learned a lot from some fo you. Yes, dear fellow bloggers, we are thankful for you!

Enjoy Thanksgiving 2012 y'all!

Random Wednesday

Wednesday, November 21, 2012

I have a lot of randomness to blog about today, so I thought I'd link up with Shanna and her...

But also because Sarah told me I should. =)

Now on to my randomness...

1) Tomorrow might be Thanksgiving, but I'm looking forward to four days of Thanksgiving celebrations! We get to spend it with immediate and extended family from both sides. The Mr will probably go hunting a few days and I will probably sleep - not kidding here. NO, I will not be black Friday shopping... (you'll hear more about this later). And the best part is, these maternity pants have plenty of room for the baby and some turkey and dressing! ;) So Happy Thanksgiving Eve, y'all!

2) I'm completely behind on a few things. One of those is our Christmas cards. I normally have them ordered, addressed and ready for the post office by today. And I was on track back the first of October when I decided on our card, but something told me not to order them yet. Well, two weeks later... I'm glad I didn't. I have a few ideas for our Christmas card this year with the news of our little bundle of joy growing up a storm inside of me. But y'all... I haven't done a thing about it. Slacking? Yeah, just a little. This might be the first year that our friends and family don't receive their card from us until, ummm, the day before Christmas?!?! Okay... stay away panick attack!

3) Christmas shopping... yeah that's another thing I'm completely behind on. Last year, all but two presents were bought, wrapped and under the tree before Thanksgiving. This year, the first three people were marked off the list Sunday afternoon. Thankfully our "people to buy for list" has been shortened this year. Hey, we've got the important people covered... but this little one coming in June has us saving so he or she can have the world! =)

4) I yelled at the husband last night. No, I'm not proud of it, and to be honest I'm not sure where it came from. I'm going to assume my hormones are in full swing and that added with pure exhaustion and my body aching... it just came out. And it was over the dryer, y'all. So... Mr Sowell, please forgive my outburst out of no where last night. You've been nothing short of wonderful, and are being extra thoughtful throughout this pregnancy... I promise I've noticed and I appreciate it more than you'll ever know. I love you, and I mean it, always!!

5) Christmas movies... remember I blogged about it a few posts ago and you can find it here. Well, I marked one off the list last weekend. Shhhh.... the husband really didn't think it was a "Christmas movie," so he let me watch it... before December! LOL It was Love Actually and it just happened to be on HBO Saturday afternoon. And I've seen teasers that Four Christmases will be on Friday afternoon. That's right honey... you go and have fun hunting because this little momma will be watching Christmas movies! ;)

Well, I hope y'all have a wonderful Wednesday. If you are traveling to see family and friends like we are... be careful and have a Happy Thanksgiving. I have some scheduled posts coming over the next couple of days, but then I'll be taking a break til next week. So until then y'all... eat lots of turkey!!

What I'm Baking... Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Crackers

Tuesday, November 20, 2012

Okay y'all... my cravings here lately have been a tad bit weird. And I'll tell you why. I smell something and immediately I cannot get it out of my head. Take yesterday for instance...

At the same time, two different co-workers were eating lunch. One was eating something containing peanut butter and the other had tacos. So, you guessed it... I immediately wanted tacos and peanut butter. And no, not really peanut butter tacos, but you get my drift!

Last night, I'm pretty sure the Mr thought I was crazy. Actually I believe his words were "are you trying to kill me." HA! I came home from work with a bag from Taco Bell and one overflowing from 2 Pesos. See, I ordered us chicken quesadillas and rice with cheese dip and chips and salsa from 2 Pesos. Once I headed that direction I spotted Taco Bell and decided I wanted soft tacos, too. Now I didn't eat all of it, but I did have a few bites of my quesadilla and then passed the rest off to the Mr to finish after he had his plate. And I downed my tacos wtih some chips and dip. And you guessed it, right after dinner I made...

Please tell me y'all know what I'm talking about. You really don't need anything but those three ingredients, well you'll need a mircowave, too.

In case you've been living under a rock and have never experienced these great joys... here's how you make them.

First lay out a sleeve of ritz crackers bottoms up, and smear peanut butter on the cracker. Then take another sleeve of ritz crackers and place them on top of the cracker with the peanut butter. Next you'll microwave your chocolate according to the package and dip each cracker until it is covered. Then you place the fully covered chocolate cracker on wax or parchment paper to let the chocolate set. And there you have it - chocolate covered peanut butter crackers.

I'm pretty sure it took me and the Mr about 4 minutes to make these, and just like that I had my peanut butter craving fix!

I don't know about y'all, but I love this time of year with all the many things you can dip in chocolate! What are your favorites??

Our weekend in an instagram

Monday, November 19, 2012

I love a good weekend, don't you?! And this weekend was quiet and relaxing — just what this little momma wanted.

Friday night after work, the Mr went to O'Charleys to pick up our dinner. I've been craving good salads these days, and that with some loaded potato soup seems to hit the spot! After watching a few shows on TV... I crashed. Surprised? I didn't think so.

Saturday morning, the Mr washed our vehicles before the MSU game. We tried to find our game on TV, but had to settle for watching it online...

But when you have one game to watch online, that means you can watch another on TV. And nothing is better than watching football with Christmas lights and decor surrounding you while wrapped up in a blanket...

During the game, I got hungry. (Imagine that!) And we love Outback's Aussie Cheese Fries, but there isn't an Outback anywhere close to here so we made our own...

Of course, State was doing so good (45 -14)  that we decided to have a little dessert, too! However, I'm now sad, because there is no more Husbands Delight (Sin) left. =(

After the game, I had some laundry to finish up and the Mr had supper started when I finished. He planned the menu and it was so yummy. — filet mignon, baked potatoes, baked beans and crescent rolls. Divine!

The night ended with me in the bed sound asleep while the husband watching more football. I wanted to get some rest because we had a big day ahead of us on Sunday.

Sunday morning we met up with Uncle Ken and Aunt Barbara from Huntsville for lunch at Jim N Nicks. We hadn't seen them since July 4th and it was so good to see them and hug their necks. The food at Jim N Nicks is always yummy, but the company always seems to make it better. After we were all full from our lunch, they followed us back to our home to see it for the first time, and to visit some more. A few hours of visiting and they were headed back to Huntsville. We really enjoyed their visit and can't wait to have them back, soon.

Sunday evening we had our normal shows that we love to watch and enjoyed some grilled burgers and homemade fries. An early bedtime took place to gear up for our short work week before we head to have Thanksgiving with our families.

That was our weekend in a nutshell. How was y'alls weekend?

The smell of Christmas

Sunday, November 18, 2012

We don't burn candles anymore, mainly because I had a slight memory loss a few times and let them burn throughout the night while we were sleeping or left the house with them burning. And yes, the good Lord above was watching out for us every time that happened!

About a year and a half ago, I was introduced to Scentsy.  I was lucky enough to have my neighbor across the street from us in Meridian sell it. So I have a few warmers, and scents. However, yesterday was the day to change from our Autumn Sunset scent to...

And the entire house is now looking and smelling like Christmas.

Do you use Scentsy? What are your favorite Christmas scents. I need to get a different scent for our guest quarters downstairs, and I could use a few suggestions.

Things I'm loving right now...

Saturday, November 17, 2012

Call me crazy, but since October 14th... things have changed a bit in our world. And all for the better I might add! =)

{Hawaiian Punch} I'm sure every pregnant lady deals with caffeine intake differently. However, the Mr and I decided to forgo all caffeine in the form of liquids. (Yes, my dr told me I could have a cup a day, but I decided to just quit it cold turkey.)  And we also decided against diet drinks in general with the artificial sweeteners. So now... my drink choices are water, sprite and hawaiian punch. Of course water and hawaiian punch are the main winners with the punch mainly being consumed in the am and water the rest of the time. And I will openly admit that I'm really missing my diet pepsi fix in the mornings, but I think giving it up is kinda small considering this amazing gift He has given us. Plus, the Mr has promised to have me one rather large diet pepsi upon delivery. =)

{Sleep} How come you never see those chicks in the movies saying they are so tired when they are pregnant? Because seriously, I had no clue I would be this exhausted all the time. The Mr is loving my sleepiness because that means early, early bedtimes. And y'all, my head doesn't even hit the pillow before I'm out. And I'm pretty sure I would and could sleep throughout the entire night except for all the bathroom calls and the 4 am hunger pains for food. I've yet to give in to that 4 am hunger attack, but rest assured as soon as I do get up breakfast soon follows. And all the books and websites I've read says naps are a must. Well, apparently all those pregnant folks didn't have outside of the home jobs because it's kinda hard to nap at the work place. But have no fear, the weekends revolve around naps. =)

{Eating} And honestly, I think the baby is loving it more than I am. I've only had a few cravings, but when I'm hungry - I'm hungry!! Better to put it this way... when I'm hungry, I better eat within a few minutes or I get sick. So eating is now pretty important these days. I never use to eat breakfast, and now not only do I eat breafkast, but I have a snack between breakfast and lunch, and after lunch I have a snack around 3ish or I do not make it til supper. From what everyone is telling me... the baby gets the benefits from the food I'm eating first and whatever is left over... I get. So we decided to up my intake of food to keep me from getting sick at my stomach, and so far... fingers crossed... it's working.

{My Nails} If you have ever met me, you know I do not have long fingernails, until now. I've never kept them long because growing up, I would either bite them or they stayed short because I played the piano. Well, you wouldn't recgonize these nails now. I seriously have to file them down at least every other day. They are strong and beautiful. Apparently, it's from all those vitamins the dr has me taking every day. (Yes, 3 horse pills to be exact.) The Mr laughes at my face when I take them. I've had worse tasting pills, but these are just massive and I take them one after the other before I leave the house in the mornings. Now if I can just take time, or stay awake long enough to go get a mani/pedi to enjoy the benefits of these beautiful nails.

{Pajama Pants/Elastic Waist Bands} I probably don't really need to go in to much details here, but I will enlighten you. The waist line is nearing its end for the next few months, and pants that have buttons and zippers are not comfortable, at all. I can still get most of them buttoned and zipped, but I'm coming right back out of them as soon as I try to move or breathe. The baby is getting bigger, and it looks like momma might me, too. And I'm perfect fine with that because that means we are going to have one rather healthy baby come June!

Dear Baby Sowell - November 8th, 2012

Friday, November 16, 2012

Do you know how much you are loved, already? The answer is tons!! You make your mommy and daddy so happy just knowing you are growing like a weed inside me. Not a day goes by that your daddy and I haven't thanked your creator day and night for this special gift He has given us.

This week, we were able to see you for the first time. You have no idea what a great joy it was to see you. And to see your little heart beating away. The tech said your heart rate was 145 and that it was perfect and right on the money for where you are suppose to be at the moment. It doesn't matter what she said though, because to me you are already perfect.

This may sound strange, but I can already feel you growing inside me. The dr said all the mild cramping is you stretching and growing and that I"ll experience this for quite awhile. And that all of this growing is what is making mommy so tired. As it was said to me... "growing a little person is hard work." But I'm so happy to have this special job of housing you and protecting you until you are ready to make your arrival in June! So grow and stretch away, because it won't be long before you'll be growing and stretching in our arms.

We go back to the dr the first week of Decemeber and I can't wait to actually hear your little heart beat then. Until then... I will just daydream of last Monday as I lay there and watched your little heart beat so fast on the screen in front of us.

God has blessed your mommy and daddy with three wonderfully amazing gifts: our salvation, our marriage and now you, little one. He had a very special plan for your mommy and daddy's lives and we are so blessed that He wanted us to have YOU. We couldn't ask for anything more!!

The day the Mr and I will never, ever forget!

A few days before that Sunday afternoon... I had been feeling "different." I was tired, I was winded, I was cramping, and my boobs were killing me. Now, the last two I figured was just mother nature doing her thing... but the first two was complexing me. Still no sign of my vistor, I started googling to see what in the world could be going on. And every site was screaming "go get a pregnancy test."

That Sunday afternoon, I decided I had to know. Mainly because if I wasn't... I wanted to know what in the world was wrong with me. Lucky for us, CVS is just two miles away. The two of us went in blind... we seriously didn't even know where to look for a test. We had to ask... no joke! We bought a two pack and off to the house we went.

Nervous, you better believe it. The Mr decided he would wait in the living room while I "did my thing" and while I was tearing the wrapper I prayed... "Lord if this is your will, we are ready."

The instrutions said wait 3 minutes, so I went back out with the Mr and waited. When the time was up, I asked him to go look... then said "no I'll go." That was the longest walk of my life. My heart was beating so fast not knowing what I would find, and praying He knew what was best. Well...

I screamed "OOOOOOOH MY...." and Terry came flying in the bedroom. I showed him our answer and he grabbed me to hug me and then came the tears. He asked me if I was happy and I said, "well yeah, these are tears of joy!"

Then I asked him should we take the other test just to make sure... he said sure and three minutes later...

I don't think I could stop smiling. As a matter of fact, I don't think I have stopped smiling. We both knew we wanted to have children one day, however, God's timing is perfect and that one day became right then and there. On October 14th... the Mr and I added new names to our titles... mommy and daddy. Wow! Mommy and Daddy!! Seriously, y'all... God is SOOOO good!!

That evening, we called my parents and his parents to give them the news. This will be the first grandchild for my folks and the third for his. Both conversations were hilarious in their own way, but they are all very excited, too!! That evening before I could lay my head down... I had to give thanks to the one who had this in the works since before I was born. His gift to us is one we will forever be greatful for, and will forever give thanks to Him for this child!

We're going to be parents, y'all!!!

Our baby at 7 weeks, 2 days...

We're having a baby!!! Surprised? We were too!!! Nothing but a sweet, amazing blessing from above!! Now, if June 22nd would hurry up and get here! =)

Stay tuned... more posts about our sweet little surprise coming soon!

A little burlap this holiday season...

Tuesday, November 13, 2012

This year I wanted to add a little something different to our Christmas decor.... burlap. And last night, we found the perfect store in Pelham to make my dreams come true. Today, my mom made it all come together. The Sowell's are now officially decorated for the holidays. (On the inside... we haven't taken down our MSU wreath, yet!)

And now... for the different variations of burlap...

Our stairs are wrapped in garland with lime green, red and burlap... yep that's three layers, y'all!

And our mantle has some of the same colors, but different burlap and ribbon... two layers!

And our beautiful tree... with the three layers again! And the tree skirt is my original with a burlap runner bunched around the base of the tree.

So... what do y'all think about my addition to burlap this year? And didn't my mom do a great job?!?

Thanks mom... if it wasn't for you... we probably wouldn't have any decorations up this year.

I guess the Sowell's need to start Christmas shopping to put some presents under that tree!

Linking up with Kelly

Happy 8 Months!

Monday, November 12, 2012

Time flys when you're having fun, y'all! It's crazy to think that 8 months ago we were in Jamaica getting ready for our wedding day. So much excitement has happened since we said  our "I do's" and I can't imagine going through any of it with anyone other than the one and only man for me!

We did our celebrating yesterday, since we are working today and have the folks coming in this afternoon. After a yummy breakfast of cinnamon rolls, we headed to church to enjoy a morning of worship. To our surprise, we got to enjoy two songs played by they handbell choir. I remember playing handbells at my home church and in high school and it brought back a lot of memories! And after we got our praise on... we headed to eat. I wanted Cracker Barrel of course, but the line was out the door (10:45 mind you) so we moved on over to Ruby Tuesday's where we were one of two tables seated. Of course it didn't take long for the crowd to arrive, but we were well on our way before the massive lunch crew arrived.

After doing some light shopping and browsing, we ended up back at our sweet home Alabama to relax and rest. And that didn't last long because we both had things we wanted to get done. While the hubs changed all our door locks, I worked on dinner and husbands delight. Yes, I FINALLY got my fix.

We called it an earlier night (because I can't stay up past 9 anymore) and enjoyed snuggling up watching TV.

Thank you Mr Sowell for being the one I can't wait to share any and all my news with, for being the only one I want to crawl (or roll) into bed with (our bed is so tall that I usually roll into bed these days) and for being the one who makes everything better with just a smile and a touch. We've shared so much over the past 8 months of marriage, and in the previous years of dating and we have so SO much more to look forward to over the coming months and years. Thank you for being the man of my dreams, and then waking up to see that you are my reality!

Happy Anniversary! I love you, always! Mean it!

What I'm Baking... Husbands Delight

Note:  this is from an older post I have done a few years ago. And no, I didn't bake this last night. However, I wish I would have! YUM-O!

HUSBANDS DELIGHT (otherwise known to me as — SIN)

Here's what you'll need...

Crust

1 1/2 cup of self rising flour
1 1/2 sticks of margarine
1/2 cup of chopped pecans (optional)

Mix margarine, flour and pecans. Press into a 9 x 13 dish and bake in a 350 degree oven until slightly browned. (Usually about 12 to 15 minutes.) Cool.

Toppings

1 (8oz.) cream cheese softened
cup of sugar
Large Cool Whip
Large box instant chocolate pudding
Small box instant chocolate pudding
1/4 cup of chopped pecans (optional)

Using your mixer, cream the cheese, sugar and 1/2 of Cool Whip. Spread over the cooled crust. Prepare pudding by using the directions on the box and spread over the cream cheese mixture. Top with remaining Cool Whip. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup of chopped pecans over the top. Refrigerate for two hours and then it's ready to cut, serve and ENJOY!!

Note:  I did not use pecans when I made the recipe this time. Terry doesn't like any kind of nuts. =)

And, to make this recipe "good" for you: use fat free or low fat products. I did and it tastes just the same without all the calories!

I'm hoping to make it this weekend to satisfy my craving... let me know if y'all try it, too!  Happy Weekend, y'all!!
