Christmas with our families... (part 3)

Sunday, December 30, 2012

Christmas evening is always spent with the Mr's family. And even though there is plenty of good food, the nieces are never interested in that... just the presents. What little kid isn't? And it takes them a total of 5 minutes to open ALL their gifts. (Cause you know it's all about the unwrapping, right?!)

Once the girls opened up all their gifts, the batteries are loaded in and then everything gets real quiet. Why? Because they are completely enthralled in their new toys! This is usually when the adults sneak back in the kitchen to get more of the good eatins...

Well, this wraps up our posting for Christmas 2012. In a nutshell, it was fun, it went by waaay too fast, and we are extremly blessed! Now, let's gear up for 2013!!

Christmas with our families... (part 2)

Saturday, December 29, 2012

Christmas Day is always full of excitement. We get to see so many of our family members and the food... THE FOOD there's always waaaay too much of it, and too good to pass up!

Christmas morning, we woke up and had some yummy pancakes before getting ready to head to Papaw's house. It was a nasty drive. Rain, wind, lightening and thunder... not the Christmas weather we were wanting. But the warmth from all the hugs made the trip worthwhile.

Yep, that's the Henson side of the family for you! Never a dull moment and tons of FUN!!

Christmas with our families... (part 1)...

Friday, December 28, 2012

I can't imagine spending Christmas without our families...Especially when we have the best families, ever!

Christmas Eve at lunch, we had Christmas with my mom's side of the family.

And MarBelle was extremely patient while she waited for her presents between her mommy and daddy.

Later that evening, we exchanged presents with mom and dad and little MB! I lost count on how many she got! And yes, she opened every single one of them by herself!!

It's hilarious to see in person, and each present she does this way. Our little funny girl. I realized now that I didn't get any pictures of mom, dad, me or the Mr opening our presents... guess we were having too much fun watching MB.

Stay tuned... tomorrow will be part 2 of Christmas with our families.

Christmas with the best of friends...

Thursday, December 27, 2012

One of my favorite parts of going back to Mississippi at Christmas, wait who am I kidding... anytime, is seeing our friends!! And this Christmas was no different! We made arrangements to spend time with some of them Sunday afternoon and evening.

First up was with Abs!! And boy do we love our Abby! We got to visit for a couple of hours and then it was photo time!!

After we said our see ya laters (cause we will see her soon), it was off to the Denney's for food, fun, and lots of laughter!

Mark grilled some extremely yummy bacon cheeseburgers (btw, did y'all know there is such a thing called bacon of the month club?) and while we were all laughing and catching up... Becca and her friends were making us rotel, rice crispy treats and other yummies! AND we even got to visit with Jase (otherwise known as Derek) and his girl Meaghan, who was fighting a cold!

We treasure each and every moment we get to spend with our sweet friends and are always counting down the days until we see each other again! Each one of them helped make our Christmas just a little brighter with their love, friendship, hugs, and talks!

These are a few of my favorite things...

Wishing you and yours a beautiful and memorable Christmas!

Christmas Lights!!

If you remember my post from earlier, there are many things I didn't get to accomplish this Christmas. And #1 was driving through the neighborhoods to look at the Christmas lights. Well, I finally talked begged the Mr into taking me last night to see CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

I've lived in Mississippi all my life until last May... and in all my years in Meridian, I've never been to see the lights on Minnow Bucket Road, that is, until last night. (I guess it takes moving out of state to do some things.) The photos are nothing like seeing them in person, but I hope you enjoy them as much as we did! (Yep, even the Mr was impressed!)

And as we were leaving, they gave us hot chocolate, candy canes and we even got to tell Santa what we wanted for Christmas! We loved the lights, and are so thankful those sweet residents take the time to make everyone's Christmas just a little bit "brighter!"

On our way back to the in laws, we stopped to take a picture of one of the houses near their street... one word for you... BLOWUPS! And they are EVERYWHERE!! (FYI, I'm not a fan of blowups, but I guess some people just love them!)

I love a lot of things at Christmastime, and beautiful displayed lights are one of them. If you live near Meridian and haven't checked out the Minnow Bucket Road display... you've got to see it in person. It will make your mouth drop!

Happy Christmas Eve Eve, y'all!!

My Work Christmas Party 2012

Saturday, December 22, 2012

On December 15th, we were treated to a wonderful party hosted by my boss at Legacy Clubhouse in Greystone. Everyone from our office came and brought their spouse. The evening started with cocktails outside by the fire, and then we retired back inside for a delicious dinner.

As I mentioned in an early post, I had a vision the week of the party to have a frame with mistletoe hanging from the top for fun pictures of my co-workers and their spouse/special someone. While I'm not a craftsman, one of the guys in the back is. He asked me what I was looking for, and the day of our party, he sends me a picture text while I was getting a mani/pedi to see if he "got it right?" Well, he nailed it! And he even made me more for my home because I loved it so much. Well... more without the mistletoe.

So while everyone was outside enjoying the fire, the Mr and I were taking pictures of all the guests with the mistletoe. And by far, this is my favorite of the night...

BTW, this is Richard, and his wife Gwen. When I told them to get their smooches on... she told him "do it and you die!" HA... and I snapped this photo right after she said it.

Of course two of our sales reps are single... ladies, let me know if you are interested. =) And the ladies of the office said we would take pictures with them so they had a picture from the night.

And speaking of ladies... they are such a blessing to work with, and a hoot, too!

Once it was time for dinner, everyone took to their seats to be served... we made our selections earlier that week... filet or redfish with crabmeat.

While we waited on our dessert, I snapped couple shots of everyone... and here is ours.

And dessert was just what the Mr loves... a hot brownie with ice cream!

And my girl Heidi received the employee of the month, complete with a Sephora gift card (which I may or may not have had anything to do with the store that gift card came from... HA!) I'm pretty sure she was a little surprised... she even cried a bit when our owner gave his speak and the gift card to her!

And speaking of our owner... He truly is one of a kind. And his wife, Kay, is precious! They both are so down to earth, and love to have a good time.

Before we left for the evening, the Mr and I snuggled up to the cozy fireplace to warm up before our drive home...

The Mr and I both agreed that this was the best work Christmas party we have ever attended. And Thomas says next year will be bigger and better than this year's. Is it December 2013, yet?! =)

Does your company have Christmas parties? What are some of the fun things y'all incorporate to make it memorable?
