Our weekend in an instagram...

Sunday, December 9, 2012

It's been a dreary weekend here in Alabama with no sunshine in sight. However, a weekend with the husband was welcome no matter what the weather conditions outside.

Friday, I stayed home from work per dr's orders. And since the Mr had to work... phone calls, texts and emails from family and friends, along with the light from the Christmas decor kept me company.

We've received a few packages from a friend, family member and even someone we only met once at the hospital letting us know they are thinking about us...

Mom told me how to keep our cypress tree and garden dish alive... so I watered them like she said.

Our Christmas cards were delivered Saturday... so that evening while the Mr watched UFC... I addressed, stuffed and then yes, he did put the stamps on them. The Mr is personally delivering them to the post office Monday, so maybe USPS will have them to our family and friend's mailboxes before Christmas Eve.

(And if you couldn't already tell, I've been following the dr and mom's orders of taking it easy and keeping my feet propped up... basically my recliner and blanket have become my new normal. Hence all the photos with the Christmas tree and my zebra fleece blanket.)

However, the Mr and I did leave the house for a few minutes on Saturday to do some light Christmas shopping. He thought it would be a good idea to get out of the house, but it didn't take us long to get back home. I get tired really easily since I've been doing a lot of resting, and everywhere we turned was a baby, a pregnant lady or baby stuff. I was able to hold my tears — the only feeling I felt was numb. The Christmas shoppers are out in full swing, and the stores were packed. However, we did get a few things that we had on our list.

And now that we have enough gifts to actually start wrapping, I'm hoping the better wrapper of this husband and wife duo will get to wrapping them soon. I'll give you a hint... it's not me.

Oh and speaking of wrapping... if you remember we told you back early this fall we had two little boys come to the house to ask us to buy some stuff...
From this "It's OK" post found here "... that we spent money on wrapping paper we didn't need, and a years subscription to Southern Living because two little boys came knocking at our door last night. Maybe it was their manners (asking if they needed to take their shoes off before coming in) and/or them being great salesmen, but we couldn't resist! The whole time the oldest was giving his sales pitch, the Mr and I kept smiling at each other. I think we both were thinking the same thing — we can't wait to have our own little salesmen one day. "
Well, our wrapping paper was delivered early Saturday morning. Terry went to the door, but I could hear the little boy saying "sorry it came in so late." It's been so long ago that we both looked at the roll of wrapping paper and thought, is that the paper we ordered? Regardless... we he will be using it to wrap some of our gifts this year.

Our Sunday is being spent resting, and doing a little laundry but mostly resting. I go back to work full time tomorrow (God willing) and I have a feeling it's gonna take a lot out of me. We tried to bring a little bit of normalcy back in our life this weekend, and while it still hurts... we are trying to move forward with a hope and a prayer. And we continue to thank you for your sweet words, thoughts and most importantly, your prayers. I'm not sure we will ever be able to express to you just how much thankfulness we feel, but please know that each thought, encouraging word and prayer is getting us through our loss.
