Prayers...

Tuesday, December 18, 2012

I know a lot of bloggers are taking a day of silence today in memory of those who lost their lives last Friday. However, I'm taking a different approach. Because today, not only are people hurting from this tragedy, but people are hurting from other things that are closer to home.

I've never done this, but today I want to share my prayer with y'all. So many are hurting right now, including myself, and I think it's fitting to pray for CT and those who are in need.

Dear Lord,

You've blessed us with another beautiful morning, and with that comes the promise of your love. We as a country need your comfort and peace, today and always. We thank you for your many blessings that only you can give. And most importantly for your forgiveness.

So many are hurting from the tragedy last Friday where innocent lives were taken, as well as people who are close to us here at home. You know the needs of your people, and you've said those who have a heavy heart, to bring it before you. Your grace is sufficent for all... and only you can give that peace that passes all understanding.

Heal our country Lord. This place would be nothing without you. Open the eyes of your people. Let them turn to you now and always. Comfort those families who's lives have been changed forever. And bless those little angels who are now celebrating with you, the true meaning of Christmas.

And today, please be with our friends, The Stricklands, as they get your answer today. The not knowing is the hardest part, but we know you have your hand on this pregnancy. Give them a peace whatever the outcome. They've struggled with a miscarriage before, and if it is your will... please spare them of this hurt today. All babies are a gift from you, and only you know if they are meant to be heavenly babies, or earthly babies.

We also ask that you will bless Terry and I to experience a full term pregnancy. We know that your timing is perfect, and that your plan for us is greater than we can ever imagine. And we thank you for that. Continue to comfort us as we try to heal from our loss, and give us that peace as we know you are the great physican. Heal our hearts, Lord.

We love you, and we are thankful for your many blessings and never ending love. Continue to bless us as we go throughout our day. In Jesus name I pray... Amen.
