Friday night after work, the Mr and I got busy cooking up a feast for his aunt and uncle that were coming to stay with us that evening. TSUN bowl game was on Saturday, so we asked them to stay with us so they didn't have to drive so far before the game.
We love to entertain, and had a ball getting all the food together. And of course, we enjoyed the conversations over dinner just as much as the food.
Saturday morning, the Mr and I got up early to fix our guests a hearty breakfast before they headed out to the game. And yes, this will probably be the only time ever that you'll see an Ole Miss anything on this blog.
Later that evening, the Mr and I got ready for a dinner date with friends.
We met Abby at Margarita Grill and it was PACKED with Ole Miss fans. It literally was a sea of red and blue everywhere we looked. Except for one table that was full of Pitt fans. And that got interesting to hear TSUN fan's saying their Hotty Toddy cheer and the Pitt fans booing at them. We literally had to scream our conversations over the table from all the noise. But getting to see our friends and catch up, priceless!
I started getting a pretty persistent headache Saturday at noon, and by the time we got home from our dinner date, I had all I could take. So it was to bed early with meds. Only the headache continued still, even with a heavy dose of Advil. We decided to stay in Sunday to rest and get ready for a full work week ahead. The Mr's pretty sure the headache is due to sinus pressure, so new meds are in my system and will hopefully do the trick.
We talked to my mom and found that back home in Meridian, lots of folks (including her) are sick with the stomach virus. Prayers for a speedy recovery, because the Mr and I have both have had it before in years past and it's not a memory we remember fondly.
Sunday afternoon we caught up on our recordings on the DVR, and wrote out our goals for the week.
Had a yummy healthy salad for lunch with grilled chicken and dried cranberries...
And... I made the Mr's favorite meal... chicken spaghetti for dinner.
You can say he was on cloud nine with the dinner selection for the evening.
That is our weekend in an instagram. We had fun, we rested and we got a few things accomplished. We have a busy work week ahead of us, and I'm already wishing Friday was here again. Yep, just hoping and praying the week flies by.
Knowing yourself is one thing, but truly believing and living as yourself is another. With so much social conditioning in our society, we sometimes forget who we are. Don’t lose yourself out there.

This definitely sounds like a great weekend! Hope you're feeling better today!
