the Sowell life's Friday five...

1) {Catnapped — and it has nothing to do with sleeping} Monday morning as the Mr was on his way out the door for work, he stepped into the garage and heard... a meow. He immediately raised his garage door, and ran back inside laughing. Now, all evening Sunday, I kept telling him I was hearing something downstairs in the garage from our bedroom. But every time I heard it, he never heard it. Turns out Saturday afternoon when he put the garage door down, we apparently "catnapped" (like kidnapped) the neighborhood cat. And a mere 36 hours later... the cat was freed. Oops! Oh and the sound I was hearing was the cat knocking over stuff to try to get in the window seal in the garage. #icouldntmakethisupifitried

2) {I'm becoming a regular} Monday at 11 am I had an appointment to see the dentist about my tooth that was throbbing. Turns out, one of the temporaries (yes, I'm talking about one of the teeth I went in to have a crown temp done a week ago) was missing. Where was it? The only thing they can figure is I swallowed it. Three and a half hours later, I left the dentist office with a partial root canal and a new temporary on that very back tooth. When it comes to my teeth, you can all say it with me — DRAMA, DRAMA, DRAMA!

3) {I strongly dislike bad weather} Tuesday, they started talking about the weather that was in store for us early Wednesday morning. Well, it arrived around 8:30 am, but I woke up glued to the TV to see what had happened overnight. So thankful to have a great weather team on ABC33/40 to keep us up-to-date with what was going on, and what was to come!

4) {Free Day... whoop whoop} Speaking of weather on Wednesday... work decided to hold off coming in due to the severe weather that was approaching. Well, at 11:08 we got notification that the streets were flooded and it wasn't safe to travel in, and to enjoy our day at home. #waitwhat? Soooo... I did quite a few things that needed to be done around the house: laundry, ironing, cleaning up the kitchen, started dinner, made a hair appointment, and ordered a baby gift for a friend! Man, it was sooo nice to have a day to get things done.

5) {Best Potato Soup, EVER} And y'all!! We added this crockpot potato soup to our menu this week, and OH. MY. WORD. it was the best soup I've ever had. Hands down!!!

Well, that's the Sowell life's #theFridayfive... ready to link up?! I can't wait to see what y'all are posting about today!

Happy Weekend y'all!!

That soup looks delish, and the fact that its crock pot - even better! Might have to give it a try if it stays cooler over here!
    Have a great weekend!

  3. You know it is about to get real when you see James Spann with his overalls on wheeling out his trusty Macbook!!! I think I may need to try that potato soup!! I am guessing if it is that good, that it is probably not diet friendly?

  5. I've had one root canal/crown and I don't ever want to go through that again. I never felt pain and I'm not afraid of the dentist but the laying practically on my head kinda causes me intense anxiety!! :) I feel like I can't communicate if I needed to and I'm in a powerless/helpless position.

You didn't keep the cat??? LOL I'm such a sap for cats/dogs.

Yay to unexpected days off!! They are the best!!
