So, let me get back to our Brrrr Chilly Cold weekend.
{Friday} evening we hit the road for a big weekend in Mississippi. The Mr and I had been planning this weekend for over two months, and we were eager to get there and get things going. We stayed at my parents house, and as soon as we walked in the door, I headed to the fireplace to warm up.
It didn't take us long to decide to call it a night. We were drained from the day and night's activities and just wanted to snuggle up and get some rest.
{Saturday} morning we woke up to disappointment. No snow. And when I asked MB what she thought about it, this was her reply...
Mom decided to cook us up some pancakes for breakfast to warm us up a bit.
The rest of the morning and day was spent napping and watching TV. We greatly needed some downtime and took full advantage of the dreary day. Of course, we did get to play with MB some.
After the game of soccer with MB, we got cleaned up for dinner to celebrate the Mr's parents 50th wedding anniversary. Before we left, mom took our picture, and dad's deer photo bombed the picture. Ha!
We left and went to Ole Farm Beef House to celebrate, and then enjoyed a miniature wedding cake from Edgar's Bakery for dessert.

{Sunday} we slept in, again. We were emotionally and physically drained and just needed sleep. But before we headed back home, we packed up all the rest of our wedding gifts and my wedding dress to bring back to our home. The Acadia was loaded down...
Of course, mom cooked us up a big home cooked meal before we headed out the door so we didn't leave with an empty tummy.Once we said our see ya laters... we headed out, back to our home sweet home!
And once we got home, I enjoyed placing my newest Abby creation — one of her D'ornaments on our front door that she custom made for us. How awesome is this!!
And that's how our weekend went. We are so happy to be back home unpacking and catching up with the DVR. The rest of the night we plan to chill and de-stress before another fun work week.
How was your weekend?

The dinner your mom cooked looks delish, and MB is way too cute!!! I think her and Gracie would be BFF's if they ever met!

I love staying at my parents, now that I'm older. Nothing like sleeping in and getting spoiled with home cooked meals :-). Your pup is so adorable!
ReplyDeleteAhh I can not agree with you more!! Where is the warm weather! Ugh!
ReplyDeleteYummy food, great memories with family, and snuggles with Mar Belle! What more could you want in a weekend! Have fun putting up the rest of your wedding gifts! Did I ever tell you that I drive an Acadia too? Ha! Great minds think alike.
