A year ago today, we stood before God, a crazy eyed minister
and our witnesses proclaiming our love for each other during our wedding
ceremony in paradise. I remember the day like it was yesterday - how the air
smelled, the emotions I was feeling, and that big smile you were wearing as I
walked up to you. Without any reservations, we made promises to love each other
for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, and til death do us part. The
love we shared that day has been multiplied a hundred times more, and those
promises we made to each other still stand true today.
When I became Mrs. Terry Sowell the world as I knew it
changed immediately. No longer did I long or want for anything more, because
with you, I have everything I could ever need. Being with you before we were
married, I was the happiest girl in the world. And when you married me, you
fulfilled the biggest dream I’d always had. Not because I was getting married,
but because I was marrying the one I knew I was meant to love forever, the one
I will grow old with.
This past year has been a roller coaster ride. We’ve
experienced in one year what most husbands and wives experience in a lifetime.
And some may never experience it. We’ve shared many happy moments this year,
and one loss that left us both feeling empty. This is for certain; I’d never
want any other passenger on this ride, nor want anyone else to share this life
with. The best part about this year is that even though there were good times
and sad, we grew even closer and realized that no one else can love us like we
do. Our love is unique, and no one could ever fulfill my heart like you do.
Thank you for making me the person I never dreamed I could
be. I’ve loved every moment with you as your wife. Little things in our
marriage is what I love. I love our routines: the way you wake me up, the way
we never leave each other without saying “I love you” and kissing bye, our
lunch dates, how we eat dinner together every night, together, at the table,
our silly whisper fights, the silliness we bring out in each other, you new
found love for The Real Housewives and Dance Moms, and my secret love for your
favorite shows Blue Bloods and, even, How I Met Your Mother. It’s these little
things that make us, us! I wouldn’t change our marriage, or our love, for the
world.
Thank you for being my best friend, my soul mate, my rock
and the man God chose for me. I might not say “thank you” enough for all you do
for us, but know that it is very much appreciated and never taken for granted.
I loved you
yesterday, I love you even more today, and I my love for you will continue to
grow stronger with every passing day! Thank you for a wonderful first year of
marriage. I look forward to all the memories and love we will share throughout
our lifetime.
Love,
Your Wife
