the Sowell life's Friday five...
1) {Pizza Review} So you know all those pizza commercials on TV and the minute you see that juicy, steaming pizza, you just know you have to have it? Well, let me help you NOT waste any of your money on Pizza Hut's newest product — Crazy Cheesy Crust Pizza. Sorry y'all, but it's just not that good. As a matter of fact, I kinda threw up in my mouth when I tried the crazy cheesy crust part. The pizza itself was great, but I just couldn't eat the crust. Now, let me just say that I LOVE the stuffed crust, and the thin crust. And their pepperoni with extra cheese pizza is the bomb diggity. However, this one didn't get a good score at our house. Sorry Pizza Hut, nice try, but it didn't work for us.
2) {Kraft Fresh Takes} I'm really becoming a huge fan of these. This is the second one that we have tried, and I'm amazed at the flavor this easy "shake and bake" has. And I'm excited to head back to the grocery store soon to try another flavor. The Mr likes the flavors, but also loves the fact that it's cheesy, too. I like the fact that there is little to no clean up, and let's be honest... that makes for one happy cook. I'm not sure where they sell them in your grocery store, but in our Publix that have them near the sausage, packaged deli meats, and the bacon. But I could easily see these in the cheese isle. And yes, you must keep it refrigerated. Have y'all tried any, and if so, what are your favorites?
3) {Music} If you read yesterday's post, you probably already know that music plays a big role in my life. Sometime's you'll catch me with the TV off, and just me in the kitchen cooking to music. So I thought it was only right for me to share with y'all some of my new favorite songs.
• Clarity by Zedd
• Madness by Muse
• The Way by Ariana Grande
• When I Was Your Man by Bruno Mars
• If I Lose Myself by One Republic
4) {Peppermint Oil} Last weekend, I had my second massage that the Mr gave me a gift certificate to for Valentine's Day. Well, Nancy was telling me all the wonderful things peppermint oil can do for you. And that it would relieve headaches. I don't get many headaches, but when I do get them... they take me down for the count. So guess what... Monday, the nastiest, unwelcome, sickening headache struck and I couldn't get rid of it for any reason. And I was emailing back and forth with The Park Wife, and she said the same thing about the oil. Tuesday I ordered some. And it came in yesterday, so I can't wait to try it on the next headache. Naturally I'd prefer to not ever get another headache, but we all know my luck with that.
5) {Amazon Prime} Well, I put it off for a long time. But, I'm finally trying the amazon prime, and so far, I'm loving it. Not only it is a free trial, but I'm loving all the features it offers. I can borrow books on my kindle, I get free two day shipping, and I'm not sure about all the rest, but I can tell you that we will probably get a membership. We use amazon a lot, and with all the books I'm reading... getting able to borrow them is a very nice feature. Now, here's my question... before we get a membership — do y'all have a membership, and what do you think of it? Any other features that I should know about that I will love?
Now, who's ready to link up?!! Thanks for stopping by, linking up, sharing the link up on your blog and on twitter! I appreciate y'all spreading the word more than you'll ever know!!
HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

We have a Prime membership and LOVE it. This is our second year with it. We find ourselves ordering a lot of stuff on Amazon because with free shipping, there are a lot of things you save money on. Chris pretty much checks almost every item that we want through Amazon first to see if we can get a better deal there.
ReplyDeleteMy aunt has prime, so I use her account when I want something immediately! hahaha.
ReplyDeletePeppermint oil is a miracle. It's been awesome to keep the spiders away. When I have a really bad headache I dab some right behind my ears.
I really wish we had Publix up here.
Happy Friday!
Let me know if the peppermint oil works for you! I have headache frequently and need fast relief!
ReplyDeleteI love the Kraft fresh takes! So yummy and so easy to make.
ReplyDeleteI had Amazon Prime for a little while when I bought my Kindle, but you could only borrow 1 book a month. To me, it was not worth it, because I don't buy from amazon that often. :)
We love our Amazon Prime account. We can watch certain movies and TV shows for free as well. But my favorite part - when I totally forget someone for Christmas or their birthday - free 2 days shipping can't beat anything!
ReplyDeleteIf you're a pizza fan - try Domino's personal pan pizza. AH MA ZING!
I have had Amazon Prime for, gosh, going on 3-4 years. I had to get it when I was doing my masters because I would forget to order the book in time. I NEEDED that two day delivery! Now anytime Lt wants to buy stuff on Amazon, he will have me do it to get it quicker. I have "borrowed" a book for my Kindle. Loved it! Just wish I didn't have to wait before I can do it again.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy Prime. It'll be the best thing you ever did!
We have been contemplating Amazon Prime too.....I can't decide! Eeek!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I'm out of town...AGAIN...so I couldn't link up today. :(
ReplyDeleteAhhh you make me want stuffed crust pizza! Man I can't kick this pizza craze!
ReplyDeleteLove the fresh takes!
Amazon prime is awesome!!! But I don't know details just the perks of two day shipping! I have shoes coming on Tuesday haha
Love, love, love my Prime membership! I use it and I use it often! I especially love being able to stream the free shows/movies on the TV via our PS3 and also on our iPads and the kid's Kindle Fires. It more than pays for itself here.
ReplyDeleteI tried the kraft flavors, most of them are really good. Then I came across a recipe at the grocery store (there was a pad of them in front of the hidden valley ranch dressing) and now I just make my own! I use boneless chicken breast, roll them around in ranch until they are fully covered, then dredge them in a mixture of:
ReplyDelete1 cup bread crumbs (italian or plain, doesn't matter)
1/2 cup parmesian cheese (from the plastic jar- what you use on pizza)
3/4 cup shredded cheese
roll them around good, put on a baking sheet sprayed with pam (or greased), I always sprinkle any leftover crumb mixture over the top of the chicken- it's too good to waste
The great thing about it is that you can mix up any flavors you want- sometimes I throw some cooked bacon pieces in with the bread crumbs and use pepperjack cheese- yum! but
you can use cheddar, italian, swiss, anything, and the chicken is SO juicy- bake at 350 for about 25 minutes- delicious and my entire family loves it! (the crunchy cheesy parts on the baking sheet when you lift the chicken off might actually be the best part!)
