4th of July Dessert Inspiration

Tuesday, June 25, 2013

My birthday might be this Thursday, but I'm a little more excited about next Thursday. Cause it's 4th of July, y'all!!

We celebrate at the lake with family, and this year will be no different. We can't wait to see all our relatives and enjoy spending time together. And I can't forget to mention the wonderful fireworks show provided by Shannon. It's the perfect way to end the day.

Last year I didn't have much time to prepare for the day food wise, but this year... I'm bringing my A game! Here are some of the things I've pinned from pinterest. Now which ones do I chose...

I'm leaning towards the cookies and/or the cupcakes. But what do you think? Do y'all have any other suggestions or recipes I should try? What are your plans for Independence Day? It's hard to believe it's just a little over a week away!!

  2. Definitely the cookies because they would be easier to produce and can make a lot of as well. Plus they are easy to grab and go and less messy for young ones. But for the wow factor, it would be the cheesecake flags. Good luck on which ever one you will make. Any of them will be a hit!

  3. That all looks delicious!! I'm considering making a berry parfait with lady fingers or angel food cake, whipped cream, and red and blue berries. Happy Early Birthday!!!! :) I'm sure you'll be showered with love and be absolutely spoiled by your sweet man!

  5. They all look delicious! I know a lot of people do fruit pizza (sugar cookie dough baked, then topped with whipped cream, strawberries & blueberries). Either way, you're not going to go wrong with any of these treats!

Or whatever that cool whip, m&m, pie deliciousness is in the bottom left corner. That thing looks amazing. I think I need that recipe!

  7. I need to make a dessert for Saturday, and it's a pre-July 4 bbq so I wanted to do something sort of festive. Great ideas!

  9. I have made the cookies before, well not colored, but the recipe. AND DELISH!! Plus - with cookies you don't have to worry about the heat making all kinds of mess!!

    And I can't believe it's almost JULY!
