4th of July 2013

Saturday, July 6, 2013

The skies opened up Wednesday evening, and it's still raining as I type. I'm not complaining though — the temperature has been wonderful here in Alabama. I'm not sure I've ever seen a 4th of July where the temps have been in the 70s. But, I'm loving it!

Our 4th of July celebration was at lake Logan Martin with our Huntsville family, and the Kemp family from Bham.

While the kids continued to swim in the lake with the rain showers, the adults stayed on the screened in porch and enjoyed catching up. And, not to mention snacking on all the yummy food. We didn't let a little rain ruin our family time.

We saw a break in the rain, so Shannon's fireworks show went on as planned. He does an amazing job getting everything prepared to give us all the oohs and aahs. Until you've experienced his show, you've never really seen a fireworks show. We are literally sitting under the amazing show as the fireworks shoot from the boat. He has it all engineered and wired to give us a show we'll never forget each year.

We didn't get in the bed until 1:30 Friday morning, so you can imagine how lazy we've been. But we wouldn't have changed a thing because we love getting to spend time with our family to celebrate our country's birthday! Plans are already underway for our 4th of July 2014 celebration. We can't wait to be back at the lake enjoying our time with family again, soon!
