H A P P Y  F R I D A Y!! Here's hoping the weekend is NOT full of rain, but sun and fun!

the Sowell life

the Sowell life's Friday five...

1) {MB Snuggles} Little MB came to visit this week, and she was ready for snuggles... with blankets. This girl takes over every blanket we own, and this week was no different. I've been keeping a blanket draped over a chair in the living room, and she found it this week. I mean, she completely took it over.

2) {Fresh Veggies} My parents have a garden back home, and they brought over some fresh veggies when they came through this week. Mom did most of the work, but I did help some putting up the squash and corn. The Mr loves creamed corn, and now we have some for the winter. I just recently started eating squash (but only if it's fried) so we put up some squash for frying and the Mr loves it stewed, too. So we put some up that way, too.

3) {Bulk Shopping} Nobody hates grocery shopping worse than I do. And we use to go bulk shopping twice a year to get all those things that we use a lot of, but also won't parish. This time we decided to buy meat in bulk and separate everything in the portions that we need, and freeze in freezer bags. I noticed a huge savings in the prices, and I'm excited to see how well everything goes with it.

4) {New Recipe} I love a good crockpot recipe. I mean it really doesn't get much easier than a crockpot recipe — just throw everything in, turn in on, and in 6 - 8 hours it's done. This time I tried Honey BBQ Chicken, and it was delicious. 18 ounces of Honey BBQ sauce, 1/4 brown sugar, 1/2 italian salad dressing and 2 tbsp whorechester sauce. Throw in 3 to 4 chicken breasts and it's so flavorful and delicious.

5) {Homemade Bread} Last Sunday night we had Stephanie from Plain Chicken and her husband, Tadd over for dinner. And she brought us some homemade bread and honey butter. We've been enjoying it all week. Do y'all make homemade bread? I'm thinking I need to start!

Now, who's ready to link up?!! Thanks for stopping by, linking up, sharing the link up on your blog and on twitter! I appreciate y'all spreading the word more than you'll ever know!! Enjoy your weekend, y'all!

  4. I love making homemade bread.

I always buy my chicken in bulk and freeze it individually in the freezer. So easy, and I know I always have chicken to fall back on.

    Have a great weekend!
