Hellllllooo Friday. And welcome weekend!!

the Sowell life

the Sowell life's Friday five...

1) {The Weather} I know, I know — I've been talking a lot about the weather here lately, but seriously it's been so Fall(ish) outside and I'm loving it. This week's weather has been perfect, and if it's any indication of what's to come — bring. it. on.

2) {A Sweet Treat} The only thing that can make brownies any better than paired with ice cream is adding symphony bars to the pan. #heavenly

3) {Special Delivery} I've been enjoying these beautiful flowers from my sweet friend Darby. She knows how to brighten anyone's day.

4) {My First Meatloaf} I haven't had meatloaf since I was a child living with my parents. Honestly, I've never been a huge fan of it. So the other night we were talking about what we were going to make with the hamburger meat I had pulled out. The Mr said I should make meatloaf. Well, thankfully Stephanie had a recipe that was easy and that he said sounded good so I made it. He said it had a great flavor and enjoyed it. (two helpings) He said he knew I wasn't going to like when he took a bite. Not because it didn't taste great, but because I'm not a fan of certain textures. I agreed that it was full of flavor, but that one bite did it for me because of the way it felt in my mouth. (Go ahead and shake your head... that's just me.)

5) {Duck Dynasty} Did y'all see the season premier this week? LOVED it. I don't think we have never missed an episode, and hope to always keep it that way. The show is full of happiness, funnies, God's love and family togetherness. And you have to admit — Si just might be everyone's favorite!

Now, who's ready to link up?!! Thanks for stopping by, linking up, sharing the link up on your blog and on twitter! I appreciate y'all spreading the word more than you'll ever know!! Enjoy your weekend, y'all!

  1. I was cracking up reading this because I have BIG texture issues. I'm pretty sure I should have seen a speech therapist growing up. I don't put milk in my cereal, I don't do bananas, I can only eat the thick and creamy type yogurts, and I don't eat sandwiches on plain bread. Never had a PB&J in my life. Lol, Brie used to chase me around the house, pin me down and try and shove a piece of white bread in my mouth. Ahhhh, sisterly love.

As I read this I am sitting on my back patio, enjoying a hot cup of coffee, wearing pants an a hoodie. LOVING this weather.

Happy weekend Joy, and thanks for a faboo linkup!

  2. Pretty flowers!

The weather here has been AMAZING!

I watched Duck Dynasty last night. I love Phil and Si. I feel like it's a little more scripted then it used to be though.

  3. I cannot believe you've had temperatures like that!!! I am beyond green with envy! This week we haven't gotten below 100 before 8pm.....It's killing me and I NEED fall!

I hope those flowers are still keeping you cheery :-)

  4. Love me some Duck Dynasty! I stayed up past my bedtime to watch it. :) I also have weird texture issues, but I also won't eat certain foods in they have a strong smell to them.

  5. Wow! Super jealous of your weather. It's like Mother Nature is giving you a Fall Teaser! I only got about 24 hours of it.

The flowers are gorgeous! Definitely brighten up the dreary days!

I am with you on meatloaf. I wouldn't even attempt to make it. My mom's traumatized me too much!

Happy Friday! Have a great weekend inside taking a lot of naps!!

  6. Infinitely jealous of that weather! And the flowers are beautiful - good job, Darby! Meatloaf is weird so I don't blame you one bit and we can add Duck Dynasty to the list of things I don't get... I admit, I have never watched it but so many people love it!
