My thoughts on the VMA's...

Monday, August 26, 2013

Even if you didn't watch the VMA's last night on MTV... you've certainly heard about some of what went on through social media today. I will admit that we did watch it last night. And I can say that some of the things I witnessed last night made my jaw drop. Should I have been shocked? Maybe not, but some of it was hard not to be.

The opener... Lady Gaga. I'll admit that I love her new song, however I knew to expect something dramatic with her choice of wardrobe. All in all, I enjoyed her show — even though her sea shell outfit at the end I could have gone without seeing.

The Miley Cyrus freak show was just that... a freak show. From the outfit to the mouth expressions, and the provocative dancing — what was she thinking. I understand she doesn't want to be known as "Hannah Montana" anymore, but she's making herself look ridiculous and I feel it's not good for her new game plan.

JT — the highlight of the show for me. I love all of his music, and would love it if they came out with a hits album for him. I'd purchase it in a heartbeat. He could have been the entire show and I would have loved every minute of it. And, who didn't love seeing NSYNC back together — even if it was for a few seconds.

Bruno Mars is one that I'd love to see in concert. I enjoy all of his music, and I love his little energetic self. I enjoyed hearing his new song, but I really love Treasure!

Katy Perry ended the night right with her new song Roar. And she's another singer that I enjoy her music. I can't wait to see what all new music she has on her new album.

  3. I tuned in just in time to see Justin Timberlake and SNYNC. I shut it off shortly after...I have no tolerance for the other nonsense that goes on during these award shows anymore haha. I saw Katy Perry on Youtube this morning and she was good. Maybe I need to see Miley just for shock factor. Yikes.

  4. I hate Miley Cyrus, I think she has no talent and she's gross. Don't put your insecurity on display for the entire world. And keep your tongue in your mouth.

I love JT and Bruno Mars! They were both great.

  5. I agree. I really didn't enjoy the Miley Cyrus/Blurred Lines performance. It made me uncomfortable.

I turned it off after JT. He's really the only reason I was watching. I really enjoyed his performance. We are seeing him live in November- can't wait!

  6. I made lollipops out of essential oils this morning listening to "Roar" and JT's medley by himself. That man gets better & better with age. I think I'm going to dance to it every day of life :)

  7. I only saw Justin Timberlake - I thought the N'Sync part was way too short!

I watched everything else via twitter. I am glad I missed Miley Cyrus. She is crying out for help!

  8. Well I am glad I am not into that music and didn't watch. Just seeing the twitter feed last night...wow. In my mind it is sad for the people in the world who actually consider some of that "good entertainment".

  10. JT all the way. Miley is crazy, but I wonder - would there still be all the buzz had Lady Gaga done the same performance? Just asking, because I don't know if there's a right answer, but I do think the reaction may be a tad bit different.
