the Sowell life's Friday five...

1) {Homemade Cooking} I love to cook, but these days standing in the kitchen for over an hour preparing food is not fun. I'm getting tired more easily and I also have a good bit of pain in my hips if I stand up for about an hour. So, even though we love homemade lasagna, I don't imagine we will have it again until after AC comes. But it was delicious!!!

2) {Hello MB} We got a sweet visit from our little Marsie Belle this week. We love having her here because she always gives us something to laugh at. Check out these cute faces!

3) {Just a little scared} Marsie Belle hates, and I do mean HATES when a smoke alarm goes off whether in person or on TV. Well, now anything that remotely sounds like it, she gets upset. And Wednesday night, she heard something on TV and we had to grab her to keep her from going to get under a bed. Mom said she was shaking for about 20 minutes while she was holding her. Poor baby!!

4) {American Idol} It's back, but the initial shows in the beginning are not as funny as they have been in the past. They usually show a lot more of the "bad" talent, which is what we love to laugh at. Of course, Harry is making the show a little more funnier. However, he seems to think only one or two are good enough to make it to the next round. Ha!

5) {Hair Cut} It's been a while since I had a hair cut. Actually it's been since September! Yeah, waaay too long. So I had about two inches chopped off yesterday at the salon. It looks healthy again, and it doesn't weigh a ton! Still have the grays... I haven't had them colored since June. But, I'm thinking they will get a dye job the last week of Feb so little AC will see her mama without the gray when she arrives. We have another ultrasound at 35 weeks... and that will determine when I plan to set up my appt.

Now, who's ready to link up for the first Friday Five of 2014?!! I appreciate y'all spreading the word more than you'll ever know!! Please stop by and visit with the other bloggers who link up. 1. I haven't watched Idol in years, but I saw the 3 judges on Ellen together, and thought I would give them a chance. They are so funny together. I like that they aren't showing the bad people - but that's just me!! I love that MB is back! And you have some willpower. My first sign of gray hair and time to cover up!! Hahah! Have a great weekend friend. And freeze some lasagna for another day closer to the due date so you can still enjoy!

  3. I haven't watched Idol in several years. I feel like it is the same show every year and it just isn't entertaining to me like it used to be. I think a lot of the crazy people are fake just to make it on TV. Plus, who is going to beat Kelly and Carrie? No one! :)

    MB is just too cute!!

Hope you have a great weekend!

  5. Um! That lasagna looks amazing. Probably because I am on week 3 of Atkins. When we were preparing for Mike's arrival, we made some crockpot lasagna and froze it. It was so nice to have something yummy ready to go when the 'gifted casseroles' stopped.

  6. Poor MB! Bailey hides under the bed when I'm cooking anything that needs the hood vent on. She hates it. Other times when she's scared, she jumps in my arms and forces me to hold her.

The lasagna looks great! I need your recipe!

  8. Mmmm lasagna. My mom made it this week, so I totally crashed her dinner. So good. :)

Your hair always looks great- so voluminous! I'm getting more and more grays, and I guess I'm going to have to do something about it.

Sorry I haven't linked up- it's been hard for me to get back into a routine since the holidays. Next week though!
