the Sowell life's Friday five...
1) {Happy Valentine's Day Y'all!!} We won't be doing much celebrating here today, but plan to have a double date tomorrow with our friends for our VDay celebration. How are y'all celebrating the day?
2) {Doughnuts and Baby Gifts} Had a sweet friend come over Monday afternoon to bring little AC's baby gift. And the best part, she brought me doughnuts!! Thanks again Kaitlyn!
3) {Taco Ring Recipe} I made a taco ring this week. It's been a few years since I made one, and I had a lot of folks asking for the recipe. So, if y'all want it... here it is...
1 lb ground beef
1 package taco seasoning mix
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons water
2 (8 ounce) cans of refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Cook ground beef until beef is no longer pink; drain.
Stir taco seasoning mix, cheese and water in with the beef.
Arrange crescent roll triangles in a circle on a round pizza stone with wide ends overlapping the center and points toward outside.
Scoop meat mixture onto the wide end of each triangle. Pull the other end over filling and tuck under wide ends of dough at center of ring. (Filling will not be completely covered).
Bake at 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

4) {Crazy Alabama Weather} Yep, we've had another week of crazy weather. We were under Winter Storm Advisory and Warning Tuesday - Thursday. The only thing we saw here at the Sowell house is a dusting of snow Wednesday night. And by lunch Thursday, this was all that was left...
5) {MB Got A Package} The sweet folks at Milk Bone Social sent our little MB a special package this week.

ReplyDeleteI hope this week was the end to crazy weather for all of us! We have a foot of snow outside right now, on top of old snow, so it's really time for all the snow to go.
Hope you all have a great weekend!
Holy Frejole, I am making that taco ring! It looks delicious! And it looks like something I probably won't mess up! Woot!!!
ReplyDeleteLike Steph said (I'm about 40 minutes south of her) we got some crazy weather here, with a foot+ of snow! Yuck! Hope you guys are surviving, I know it's not something you are prepared for down there!
I think I am the only person on the planet that doesn't like Krispy Kreme! LOL, more for you and AC!
Happy weekend! <3
I forgot all about that Taco ring!! I love it!! Hope you have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteOhhh that taco ring looks yummy! I make one that is a hamburger ring that looks very similar.
ReplyDeleteI cant believe you guys only got a dusting?! We got a few inches! It was beautiful and we played in it like five year olds Wednesday night!
Chris and I have a tradition for Vday. Every year, I make full fat homemade lasagna (not my healthy substitutes) and we have a glass of wine in our vday glasses that I bought the first year we were together :) Hope you guys have a great weekend!!!
Oh, you're mean, taunting me with that taco ring! I love anything "taco"! (I'm from New Mexico, home of Hatch Green Chile, can you blame me?). I'm going to have to make that "New Mexico" style, with green chile, onions, and cilantro. Yep, this must happen!
ReplyDeleteOh those doughnuts sound amazing right now lol What a great week you had :-)
ReplyDeleteI know Spencer would LOVE that taco ring. I'll try it- thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh all of AC's little baby girl stuff is SO CUTE! Can't wait til she gets here so we can see her in some of it. :)
We are staying in tonight as a trio, but we'll go out tomorrow night.
